All-Inclusive Cruise Lines That Aren't Adults-Only
And with free, reliable Wi-Fi available everywhere on our ships, you’re just a video call away from any little ones you may have left on land. Although we didn’t stay in a RockStar suite, which are at least double in size, feature a bottomless in-room bar, and have marble bathrooms with Peek-a-Boo showers (and sometimes a bathtub), we did get RockStar VIP access. Of the ship’s additional restaurants, we loved Pink Agave’s taste of Mexico through tlayuds, memelas, sopes, tortas, esquites, and tamales, but were less impressed by Test Kitchen. We had decided to make our vacay a week of self-improvement, promising to partake in the ship’s more than 100 free exercise classes. We also swore we would utilize the open-air track on Deck 17 called The Runway, join the calming morning yoga sessions on The Perch, and visit the ship’s gym, B-Complex. Beneath one bed were two large drawers, and the closet/armoire featured another set of drawers so that everything had a place.
Best dining. Best nightlife. And counting.
On one of the ship's top decks, I found grown-up-sized swings and seesaws, a foosball table, a basketball court, and a giant chess set. When booking the cabin, I simply hoped for a wide-open view to stand in front of while feeling the breeze in my face. It was my second-ever cruise, following a seven-day voyage aboard Royal Caribbean's Wonder of the Seas. All restaurants on the ship have unique drink menus, so make sure to leave room for those. You can view your Wallet balance on the Virgin Voyages app and add more to it during the trip – more on that below. Just because it’s an adults-only cruise doesn’t mean the drinks are unlimited – unless you want them to be.
Exploring the Virgin Voyages Fleet
It was an amazing day simply relaxing at the beach, and I felt extra lucky to have booked a second voyage so I would have another chance to visit to this beachside escape. Yet one of the things that surprised me about Virgin Voyages is that they keep their pools open even later. My 265-square-foot cabin came with a large balcony to enjoy ocean views, and as a solo traveler, I felt like my stateroom had a generous layout with dedicated spaces for sleeping, lounging, working, and storing my belongings comfortably.

There were two main entertainment venues onboard Scarlet Lady where music was the main attraction for those that wanted to stay out late and dance the night away, The Manor and The Red Room. In all my years sailing, I have never seen a record shop on a cruise ship, so I thought this was a unique feature that really made Virgin Voyages stand out from the others. But I did find it surprising to see how many performance spaces Scarlet Lady had onboard, even transforming non-traditional music venues into them at night for everything from low-key tunes to all-out dance parties. And while I tend to be loyal to a few cruise lines, I was intrigued by the adults-only experience with Virgin Voyages and wanted to see for myself how it made this cruise line different. "I loved my experience with Virgin Voyages. I have previously cruised with many other cruise lines. This cruise had the best entertainment and food." Honestly, adults-only simply meant “adult time.” To us, that equated to a lot of relaxing, listening to live music, and reading on a lounge chair with a cocktail in hand.

The rooftop lounge in the forward ship was dotted with shaded loungers and multiple hot tubs with a private bar, panoramic views, and nightly happy hour. We spent every afternoon lounging on the rooftop between excursions and watched the sunset during happy hour with an intimate group of cruisers we befriended. On our sea day, when the pool was most packed, the lounge remained an empty reprieve, and we certainly felt like RockStars with our whims catered to at every turn.
The entertainment onboard Virgin Voyages cruises is carefully curated to suit the adult audience. From groundbreaking performances and live music to immersive cabaret shows, the entertainment is as innovative as it is engaging, ensuring that every night is an opportunity to experience something new and exciting. Virgin Voyages understands that adults crave a mix of relaxation and adventure. Whether you’re lounging by the pool, unwinding in a hot tub, or staying connected with the world through free Wi-Fi, the Scarlet Lady ensures your cruise experience is nothing short of spectacular.

From customized cruise packages and all-included luxury to epic rewards and delicious discounts, our programs are designed for any kind of wanderlust. For a more chilled beach-club vibe, check out The Dock, serving Mediterranean small plates, salads, dips and mezzes or head to The Galley, modelled on food halls and featuring shops and food carts. When I chatted with crew while getting my morning coffee, they would often ask if I was going to attend the big party, but refrain from sharing any actual details about it. No one wanted to ruin the element of surprise by giving away what to expect — all I knew was guests were invited to dress in scarlet red and join the fun. I also noticed beer pairing events that cost $25 per person and cocktail events seemed to average $35.
The sold-out cruise featuring 1,400 cabins across 16 decks of Valiant Lady could have turned our vacation into a nightmare – trapped on a smaller cruise ship than, say, Oasis of the Seas, at full capacity worried us. But our fears were for naught because even during our one at-sea day, Valiant Lady never felt crowded. I can’t believe I am going to say this after years of giving my mother grief for not getting off cruise ships and exploring, but my friend and I loved Valiant Lady so much that we wished we spent more time onboard! Base fares on seven-ship cruise line Oceania include only Wi-Fi, nonalcoholic drinks and meals in main and specialty restaurants. Other inclusions can be added as packages and under the line’s all-inclusive O Life program, which includes shore excursions, airfare and transfers. The majority of all river cruise sailings have few, if any, children onboard.
I've had my fair share of luxury travel experiences, from staying at celebrity-loved hotels to spending one night on the Orient Express of the 21st century. Rather than an assigned dining time, sailors can book reservations at any of the five restaurants on board just as they would on land. The cabins on Virgin Voyages Lady Ships stand out for their flexible furnishings, upgraded bathrooms, and sensory mood lighting, creating comfy quarters that are way more than just a place to crash. Award-winning Walter Knoll, who’s designed thoughtful and sustainable furniture for over 150 years, is responsible for specially engineering and handcrafting our transformative Seabed in Germany. Sailors can enjoy their cabin in two distinct ways, as a place to revel or a place to relax. A luxurious loungey space transforms into an expansive bedroom with a queen size bed in one swift movement.
For example, at Gunbae, the Korean BBQ restaurant onboard the Scarlet Lady, your waiter will teach you games during dinner. During our Virgin Voyages FAM trip, we got to experience the excitement firsthand. We recommend starting with the list of destinations and departure points (like Miami in the US) and each cruise itinerary’s length. When I disembarked the ship, I found I was already in the center of things and it was just a short walk to local cafes and attractions. At the port, I saw plenty of shops, eateries, Duty Free, and excursion desks for those who want to join a formal tour.
I thought the piano corner was a nice place to hang out and listen to classic and popular music before dinner. On my previous sailings, I've become accustomed to original main stage productions on Carnival, Broadway shows on Norwegian, and featured dance shows on Royal Caribbean. I'm a seasoned cruiser and have spent more than 100 weeks at sea on popular cruise lines like Carnival, Norwegian, and Royal Caribbean. By far, our best Experience was a day sailing to the Pitons in Saint Lucia, where we stopped to snorkel and dropped anchor in a quiet yet colorful bay for local eats and Piton beer. Actually, it was super easy to maintain a healthy lifestyle aboard Valiant Lady. We couldn’t get enough of Rees and his high-energy Spin classes set to Beyonce, Rhianna, and Madonna.
Virgin Voyages ships are designed with the adult traveler in mind, offering everything from serene spa treatments to lively nightclubs. Plus, with Wi-Fi included, you can share your favorite moments as they happen. The journey of Virgin Voyages began with a vision for redefining luxury cruise experiences.
The lighting inside the shop was also neat, adding a nightclub vibe with deep blue and purple hues at all hours of the day. With another nod to Virgin's music-loving mission, Scarlet Lady had a vinyl record shop onboard my sailing. I think this was largely due to the fact that there were just so many different venues where passengers could hear music. I also found solo musicians and DJs in other places like restaurant entryways, wide hallways, and near the ice cream parlor. First, I had a wristband tech wearable that opened my door instead of a traditional key card. I also found colorful mood lighting inside my room and a bright red hammock on my balcony, which were all features I had never experienced on other cruises.
You know, like waking up at 5 am because both of your children had something extremely important to tell you (the twist? It wasn’t important). Children are one of life’s great joys, but on Virgin Voyages, we believe absence makes the heart grow fonder, especially while on a cruise vacation. That’s why, despite the fact that our adult only cruise ships are a playground for your inner child, we’ve chosen to curate an adults-only cruise experience.
A typical glass of wine on Scarlet Lady costs around $10, so that seemed like a good value for those who want to try different varieties. When a DJ was on-site, passers-by like me would slow down to peruse the collection, but most times I went by, the shop seemed like a quiet space to browse. While the shop didn't seem that large compared to land-based music stores, I thought the record selection was eclectic with albums from artists like Billy Joel, Stevie Nicks, Willie Nelson, Lizzo, and Depeche Mode.
